Peer-to-peer replication is new to SQL Server 2005. It is actually a specific variation of transactional replication and very similar to bidirectional transactional replication. There is no conflict resolution. It allows you to update data at both a Publisher and a Subscriber and send the updated data to each. Where peer-to-peer differs from bidirectional is that if any of the servers hosting the databases fail, your application (assuming it is properly programmed) can use any one of the other databases participating in peer-to-peer as its primary database. This means that all copies of the data at all Publishers and Subscribers are exactly the same. This is also another case where Network Load Balancing can be used to abstract the name of the servers to provide a single name/virtual IP address to your application. One of the challenges with peer-to-peer is that you will have a hard time knowing where any given transaction is within the replication process at the moment of failure. If you are considering peer-to-peer replication, I would recommend issuing some sort of custom check to see where your databases are in terms of consistency.
